In partnership with Insole Estate Residents Association, Councillor Sean Driscoll organised community leaf sweeps in and around Insole. Sean said: “This year we expanded the scheme to include the Waungron Road area. It was a great success!
"I'm grateful to the council's waste team for helping clear the leaf fall and for returning to mechanically sweep the Insole.
"Residents have struggled to clear away garden waste as a result of Cardiff Council suspending garden waste collections in winter months."
Matt smith said: "I will work with Sean to ensure garden waste collections are not suspended during the winter months.
"Local residents have told us that they want regular garden waste collections.
"With council tax rising under the Labour-run Cardiff Council year-on-year, it is reasonable for residents to expect fortnightly collections through the summer and at least one collection a month during the winter months."
Conservatives would deliver monthly winter and fortnightly summer green bin collections alongside fortnightly general waste collections.
