It is now a few months since the general election on 7th May 2015 and, as the Conservative candidate, whilst I was disappointed not to have won I was humbled that 11,014 electors in Cardiff West chose to place their trust in me and the Conservative Party. On behalf of the Association and my wider campaign team, thank you!
As a Party, the Conservatives proved to be a growing and successful force in Welsh politics. In Cardiff West we were delighted to see our colleague and friend, Craig Williams, elected as the new MP for Cardiff North. He was a hard working and campaigning Pentyrch councillor and is continuing this approach in Parliament, providing our City with a powerful voice in Parliament.
Both Pentyrch and Cardiff West Conservatives have been fortunate to gain the services of Gavin Hill-Thomas who was elected as Craig's successor as Pentych Councillor in a by-election in July. He brings his considerable talents, experience and common sense to not only the Cardiff Council but also the wider community and strengthens our already excellent team of councillors and activists.
Finally but by no means least, local businessman and campaigner Sean Driscoll as been selected to fight Cardiff West at the Assembly elections in May 2016. Sean is a Cardiff man through and through: he cares passionately about the City and about improving the lives of people and communities within it.
He is an excellent candidate and would make an even better AM. Please support him.
