Planning permission has already been given to developers to concrete over our green spaces. Residents are asking what has Labour got planned for Danescourt?

The Welsh Labour Government's top-down housebuilding targets are driving development regardless of its impact on traffic and the landscape around Danescourt. The Labour-run Cardiff Council had predicted that the city needs 40,000 additional dwellings.

Their flawed Local Development Plan threatens to drown local communities in concrete. Residents of De Braose Close recently faced disruption from works by Welsh Water. Residents near Llantrisant Road complain about the overbearing  impact of new buildings that reduces their privacy. 

Pressures from the Plasdwr development have resulted in the takeover of Danescourt parkland for two large attenuation ponds. Labour's plans for developing green spaces around Danescourt would tear up more hedgerows, fell more trees, drive more traffic onto local roads, wear more potholes into road surfaces and place more amenities under pressure.

Consultation is a key component of local democracy. Danescourt's legitimate concerns about overdevelopment must be heard and respected.
